First Visit

1. Before You come

Write to us on WhatsApp or Direct. Let us know that You are coming for the first time: for new participants before the general practice we hold a short introductory meeting, or communicate via WhatsApp. You can ask what will be at the practice You are interested in — we will explain in detail.

2. When to come?

The main practice takes place on Sundays, from 11:00 to 14:00. There are also meetings on Saturdays, from 16:00 to 19:00. Write to us — we will send You the nearest dates.

3. How to get there?

Almaty, Medeu district, Ondasynova street 259/2. About half an hour from the center by car. Bus #107 runs there — write to us, we will suggest the route and send the geolocation (show on map).

4. What to wear and what to bring?

Loose clothing in which it is easy to move – preferably made of natural fabrics. For the feet — socks, or light gymnastics shoes. There are changing rooms with individual lockers and showers in the Khanaka.
Meals: it is better not to eat less than an hour and a half to two hours before the practice. If You get hungry after the class, You can bring a small snack with You. We also ask that You do not use perfumes, eau de toilette, essential oils, and strong-smelling deodorants before the class begins.

5. When You arrive

Just say that You are here for the first time — that is enough. You will be met, shown around the House, and all Your questions will be answered.

6. What You don’t have to do?

Some practices may be unfamiliar to You. Do not think that You have to know them in advance — no one expects this.

You can sit as comfortably as You like, or change Your position.
You can do the practice not at full strength.

You can and should inform the facilitator about physical limitations, if any, and treat Yourself with care. No one expects “results” from You, or that You match the abilities of other participants. Everyone “works” for themselves and to the best of their abilities.
You can step out and come back if necessary.
It is okay not to understand what is happening.
You can ask the facilitator questions.

7. What difficulties might You face?

In the first class, You may “miss” some details of the practice, feel embarrassed, or feel insecure… This is a normal state when learning something new…

In quiet meditative practices, it may seem that nothing is happening… it may become boring, You may want to leave. This happens and it is normal. Just try to trust the process, the facilitator, and “blend” into the pace and smoothness of what is happening.

If You come to intensive practices (where we actively work with the body and breath), Your muscles may ache the next day. This is normal muscle soreness, and it should also be treated calmly.

If during an active practice strong emotions arise that are difficult for You to cope with (anger, irritation, fear, sadness, etc.) – do not hesitate to approach the facilitator and ask them a question, share Your state. The facilitator is not a “clairvoyant” and cannot always guess, or determine by appearance, what is happening with each participant.

In any case, the practices take place in the safest possible space, with respect for Your internal and external state, and in compliance with ethical norms (no one will touch You without Your permission, “push” You to do something that is unpleasant or painful for You, interfere in Your personal process (on the part of other participants), judge, or forbid).

8. How long does the practice last?

The main practice lasts on average about three hours. If You need to leave before the end, it is advisable to warn the facilitator or the administrator in advance.

9. Tea time

After the practice, You can relax in our cozy tea room. Here You can get to know other participants of the practices in a relaxed atmosphere, ask any questions, listen to other people, and discuss the past class. Tea and treats are free. Staying “for tea” is not mandatory. But usually, it is at the table that it becomes clearer what is happening here.

10. How much does one visit cost?

A regular class costs 5 000т (less often 7 000т – if announced in advance), a subscription for 10 visits — 40 000 ₸.

You do not need to pay for the first visit.
